An Anomalous Paradox, Self-Proclaimed Philosopher, Jack of all Trades – Master of None, Serial Entrepreneur, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Electrical Engineer and an Electric Motorsports Pioneer who's worn many hats in this short, but fruitful life – born and raised in Houston, TX as Matthew Dishongh, with many self-defining interests and hobbies, including but not limited to those primarily in the realms of Action Sports and Artistry. Joined the U.S. Marine Corps and left home for good at the ripe age of 19 to be stationed in Southern California, thereby serving an honorable 4 year enlistment.Struggling with identity and purpose post-service: embarked on an existential quest for truth and meaning, whereby stumbling upon the contributions of Nikola Tesla and the Electric Universe Theory along the way, which ultimately lead to the conclusion, at the time, that understanding electromagnetic physics – energy, frequency and vibration – was the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe, as Tesla famously proclaimed.Then took the leap of faith and moved to Silicon Valley in Northern California to pursue an Electrical Engineering degree which revealed a newfound passion for Electric Motorsports via Formula SAE, which has been the pursuit ever since through companies such as Hypercraft, and now through my own electric ventures – REVolt Engineering Co and Si∿(e⁻) Propulsion Systems: designing and building Electric Karts, among other Electric Vehicles, for professional racing, recreation, clients and giveaways, while providing electric propulsion solutions, along with electrical engineering design and consulting services for clients local and worldwide.

An Electrical Engineer with diverse hands-on, electrical systems design, integration and optimization experience, from low voltage communication networks to high-voltage, electric propulsion systems, across both commercial and government sectors, who’s consistently seeking opportunities to further his professional development and sharpen his electrical skill set by facing and overcoming new technical challenges and experiences while simultaneously pursuing a calling and passion for electric motorsports.

Military Service

Installed, operated, and maintained tactical communication systems with secure network infrastructure, while leading teams, managing critical assets and logistics, safeguarding classified systems, and providing security, mentorship, and technical support in high-pressure operational environments.

Engineering Experience

Leads the development of universal, turn-key, bolt-on, electric propulsion systems for the kart racing industry with a heavy focus on safety, reliability, and performance, while navigating and managing supplier and manufacturing partnerships, overcoming engineering challenges such as heating, motor controls tuning, mounting, weight distribution and communication for displaying and logging critical system data metrics, and provisioning for future iterations and scalability.

Tests, troubleshoots, resolves and validates RF electronics communication systems in a manufacturing setting using industrial electrical test equipment for defense, naval and aerospace applications.

Engineers, builds and delivers custom electric vehicles (EVs) such as go-karts and bikes for clients and giveaways, while providing electric propulsion solutions via consulting and design services, and direct sales as a distributor of parts and components for EV builds and projects.

Assisted in the construction of a specialized lab for testing and calibrating sound measurement instruments while optimizing LabVIEW equipment test applications and test procedure documents.

Drafted, integrated, and validated EV powertrain system architectures for numerous applications, from recreation, to motorsports and defense, by developing full-vehicle schematics, wiring harnesses, custom dash displays and CAN-based control logic while performing in-depth troubleshooting, and utilizing industrial electrical test equipment for prototyping, validation, and production.

Developed a sophisticated EV charging system by designing custom low and high-voltage PCBs with CAN communication and control logic, enabling data display via PCB-mounted LCD, logging and automation for reliable, efficient and safe operation, while integrating the charger with the vehicle's battery, solving storage and mounting challenges, and producing comprehensive system documentation.

Created, updated and validated electromechanical schematics, reverse-engineered system component behavior and interactions to guide appropriate modifications to system performance parameters, and designed an automated relay-based fire alarm safety system to ensure reliable operation and system integrity during hardware reconfiguration.

Independently tested and validated software, firmware, and hardware across diverse communication technologies and networks, while managing logistics, documentation, reporting, and troubleshooting – ensuring accurate results, secure handling of proprietary devices, and on-time project delivery.
